HASR Directory, Ninth Edition 2009
We're pleased to announce that we've got the same great team working together this year. The benefit being that we know our individual strengths and weaknesses and are planning accordingly.
The leap of growth the directory is experiencing is more than encouraging, and we are gearing up to connect with our renewing participants and work with all our new ones to assist them to get their advertising in order for our November 1 deadline.
Jill is handling sales and marketing, Susan is working with participants on their artwork for Display Ads, HASR Home Page Banners, and MiniWebsites. Ruben is keeping the website up to date with all of our additions and changes, and Henry's going to make sure it's professionally edited.
It's a privilege and a joy to provide the healing arts community with such a beautiful place to offer their gifts and talents. Thanks for helping us grow as the Sacramento Region abounds with those who have the tools, expertise, and willingness to "show us the way."

HASR Directory Collective - 2006
(Left to Right) Jill Bernard - Project Co-Creator, Sales & Marketing, Henry Contreras - Editor, Hope Harris - Cover Artist, Susan Lawton - Publisher & Graphic Designer, Ruben Reveles - Web Engineer. At Sixth Edition Publication Celebration.
As is the case with any growing publication,
the recruitment and retention of dedicated and experience staff
is a key to growth and expansion. This is why I am very pleased
to introduce the members of our project staff:
I am very fortunate to have my husband, Henry J. Contreras www.henrycontreras.com,
as my collaborator. Henry’s background
in project management has enabled me to expand our project’s
staffing, outreach, and distribution strategies. He will also assist
in managing the directory’s copy writing, editing, and proofreading.
In addition, Jill Bernard of Essential Journey Marketing, has also
joined us as a project partner and handling all of our advertising outreach and marketing.
Finally, Ruben Reveles is continuing his professional association
with our project as our Web Engineer. Ruben and I have been working
together on websites and audio projects for many years now.
With the expansion of our staff to include these highly talented
professionals, our clients can be assured that we know how to get
things done and are poised and to make the 6th Edition of the HASR
Directory and its online companion the most successful directory
in our short history of serving the alternative and allopathic communities.
Thank your for your healing work and your support for our practitioners.

History and Evolution of the HASR Directory
The publication of the Sixth Edition of the Healing Artists of the
Sacramento Region (HASR) Directory has enabled me to realize my
vision for the creation of a viable advertising medium for the Sacramento
region’s providers of healing arts services. When my close
friend Lillian Shoupe and I first collaborated on Earth Day 2001
to create the first HASR Directory with 44 participants, our ambitions
were relatively modest and we certainly underestimated how much
work it would entail.
Nevertheless, after publishing five editions involving the distribution
of over 50,000 directories and over 300 participants it is clear
that the HASR Directory has found its niche as a valuable resource
tool for our community. It has been a very rewarding experience
to offer a well-designed and graphically appealing printed and on-line
directory that serves both participants and individuals seeking
alternative healing arts practitioners and products. |
